Frequently asked questions

Operational details for the current release.

Is WP Scanner by ErikSon Tech free to use?+
Yes. You can run an analysis without an account. The result page has a unique URL you can share by email, social networks or WhatsApp. There is no public listing of reports — only people with the link can open it.
Are my reports private?+
If you create an account, your analyses are kept in your private history and only you can see them in the dashboard. There is no community or global feed of reports.
Do I need to install a WordPress plugin?+
No. The scanner analyzes public signals from the outside: HTML, headers, common WordPress paths, metadata and browser-rendered checks when available.
Why can accessibility or screenshot be unavailable?+
Those checks require a Chromium runtime. Vercel uses the bundled serverless Chromium runtime; local or Docker workers can use PLAYWRIGHT_EXECUTABLE_PATH.
Does it work on non-WordPress sites?+
Yes. WordPress-specific findings are skipped or marked unknown, while security, SEO, privacy, accessibility and technology checks still run.
